JUBILEE POSTER CONTEST
“Celebrating Family Traditions”
Family tradition is very important in shaping the lives of children and adolescents, so as part of the 30th Annual Jubilee Festival of Heritage, students in grades K-12 are invited to participate in a poster contest to celebrate these traditions and the way it reflects their own heritage and the diversity of Columbia through creative expression.
Our families have certain traditions and ways of celebrating events and holidays that are unique and special. What traditions have been established in your family and what makes them special? Is it the way you celebrate? Or what you celebrate? Or the people who are there? Show us how you and your family celebrate traditions.
Show us the traditions your family celebrates! Entry categories are:
- Elementary I - Kindergarten - 2nd grade
- Elementary II - 3rd - 5th grade
- Middle School - 6th - 8th grade
- High School -- 9th - 12th grade
The winner of each age group will get a prize. All entries will have their poster on display at the Jubilee: Festival of Heritage on Saturday, August 23.
Rules and Regulations: All entries must reflect this year’s theme of “Celebrating Family Traditions.” On each entry, please write the student’s name, student’s phone number, grade level, unit name, unit director’s name, as well as the unit director’s email address.
Posters:
- May not be larger than 14” by 22”
- May not utilize copyrighted images, such as cartoons and professional photos
- Must include the phrase “Jubilee Festival of Heritage” on the poster
Deadline: All entries must be received by August 15th for the poster contest. Winners will be notified. Entries may be dropped off in person at the Robert Mills House Museum at 1616 Blanding Street, or mailed to:
