Virtual Tours
Bring history to life through our live, interactive virtual tours. Educators and students can virtually explore the Mann-Simons Site, Robert Mills House, Hampton-Preston Mansion, and The Museum of Reconstruction at the Woodrow Wilson Family Home. Historic Columbia staff are happy to provide educators teaching online classes asynchronously with a customized, pre-recorded tour that they can share with their students to watch at their convenience. All virtual tours align with South Carolina state standards.
Virtual Traveling Trunks
Teachers, do you miss being able to bring our Traveling Trunks into your classrooms? We've adapted our Traveling Trunk programs into bite-sized 30 minute interactive programs that teachers can invite into their online classrooms! Each trunk is led by Historic Columbia staff and features many of the interactive elements from the original in-person program, and offers unique post-visit activities for teacher's to use as they wish. All Trunks align with South Carolina state standards.
Historic Columbia received a Bridge Grant from South Carolina Humanities. Funding for the Bridge Grants has been provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act economic stabilization plan.
