Every third Sunday of the month, residents of Richland and Lexington counties are invited to tour of one of Historic Columbia’s house museums for just FREE courtesy of Still Hopes! This month, visit the Modjeska Monteith Simkins House. Built between 1890 and 1895, this one-story cottage was home to South Carolina's greatest human rights advocate, Modjeska Monteith Simkins, from 1932 until her death on April 5, 1992.
Self-guided tours are offered from 1-4 p.m. Please sign in at the Modjeska Monteith Simkins House 2025 Marion St. General admission is free for residents of Richland and Lexington counties, while general admission prices apply for any additional house tours and non-residents. The house will be open for guests to tour at their own pace, and guides will be available to answer any questions. Walk-ins welcome!
