Candlelight Tours & Carriage Rides
Candlelight Tours are $5/adult members and free for youth members; $15/adult and $8/youth for non-members
Carriage Rides are an additional $10/person. You must purchase a Candlelight Tour ticket to purchase a Carriage Ride ticket.

Visit the decorated, candlelit halls of the Hampton-Preston Mansion and the Robert Mills House and go on a guided tour during our annual Candlelight Tours & Carriage Rides!
Enjoy live music, entertainment, children’s activities, hot chocolate while celebrating the holidays with Historic Columbia and stop by the HC Biergarten for a pour from Craft and Draft. Before or after your house tour, take a carriage ride through the Robert Mills Historic District. Stop by the Gift Shop’s holiday open house throughout the evening for refreshments, holiday tunes and giveaways. Other holiday vendors will be onsite beginning at 4pm to help families with any holiday shopping needs. Be sure to visit this holiday market to find local one-of-a-kind gifts.
The Columbia Choral Society, South Carolina’s longest-performing community chorus, will entertain guests with a variety of holiday choral selections. The ensemble, which was formed in 1930, is known for performing masterworks and has sung with the SC Philharmonic. The Choral Society is under the direction of Dr. Elizabeth M. Mears.
Candlelight Tours are $5 for adult members, free for youth members, $15 for adult non-members and $8 for youth non-members. Carriage Rides are an additional $10/person. Candlelight Tour tickets must be purchased in order to purchase Carriage Ride tickets. Purchasing a Carriage Ride ticket gives guests the option of selecting a carriage or wagon. Wagon rides are great for families and larger groups.

As part of this year’s Candlelight Tours at Historic Columbia, we will host a holiday market on December 14th at the Robert Mills House from 4:00PM until 9:00PM. We are looking for local vendors to sell their wares and help us create a festive air for our guests to finish their last minute holiday shopping. If you are interested in being a vendor, please contact us at reservations@historiccolumbia.org by December 2nd. Historic Columbia has been hosting Candlelight Tours at the Robert Mills House and Hampton-Preston Mansion for decades, drawing hundreds of people each year to tour the decorated historic sites. Children’s activities, carriage rides, and live music bring the holiday spirit to life at this can’t miss event! There is no fee to be a vendor but spaces are limited.
