How to Help Historic Columbia
Monday, March 30th 2020
We hope this post finds you safe and healthy as our community continues to grapple with the coronavirus pandemic. Historic Columbia is feeling a significant impact as the closure of our house museums, cancellation of events and programs, and discontinuation of the rental program has resulted in the elimination of critical operating income. To put it simply, we need your help.
Here are three ways you can support Historic Columbia today:
Donate now.
Help sustain our work in education, preservation and advocacy. Our staff are working remotely during this time of social distancing, and we continue to work on future efforts, events, and initiatives for when we reopen. Would you donate now to support our efforts?
Become a member.
If you're a lapsed member or have never been a member, consider joining through our flexible membership options. Add on a Palladium membership if you would like to join our "young at heart" group as well. Although you can’t enjoy all of the perks of membership at the moment, your membership today will help HC get back to full operations and provide regular benefits on the other side of this crisis.
Share about Historic Columbia on social media.
Get out the word to your family and friends about the important work Historic Columbia does - whether sharing one of our Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter posts or tagging us in a post of your favorite Historic Columbia experiences. Don't forget that we have a number of online resources too, including neighborhood and thematic online tours and a historic garden database.
Most importantly for our entire community, we encourage you to take care of yourself and others. Stay home. Do your part in flattening the curve. The State recently featured an article on ways people can address the public health crisis. We're all in this together.
Thank you for any support you can give!
