Historic Columbia Announces Entertainment Lineup for the 45th Annual Jubilee: Festival of Black History and Culture

Historic Columbia is thrilled to announce that R&B singer Tweet will headline the entertainment lineup for the 45th annual Jubilee: Festival of Black History and Culture on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Mann-Simons Site at 1403 Richland Street.

Tweet, born Charlene Keys in 1971, is an American singer-songwriter from Rochester, New York. She rose to fame in the early 2000s with her hit single “Oops (Oh My)” featuring Missy Elliott. Tweet began singing in church and later joined the R&B group Sugah in the late 90s. Her debut album, “Southern Hummingbird,” was released in 2002 and was praised for its soulful sound. In 2005, Tweet released her second album, “It’s Me Again,” which featured collaborations with Timbaland and R. Kelly. After a hiatus, Tweet returned to the music scene in 2016 with her third studio album, “Charlene,” which includes the single “Won’t Hurt Me.” Throughout her career, Tweet has been praised for her soulful voice and her ability to blend R&B, soul, and hip-hop.

In addition to Tweet, Historic Columbia has a exciting entertainment line-up planned for Jubilee. Festivalgoers will be treated to performances by FatRat Da Czar, TiffanyJ, AP & Soulful Touche', Rod Foster & Company, Akiliah Renee, DJ Kelly Kel, Xtreme Jonez Steppaz, Jubilee Choir, and the gospel choir from Francis Marion University. Plus, spoken word entertainment from Felton Eaddy, and a fashion show featuring Stoi's Atelier clothing company.
