Join Historic Columbia’s Executive Director Suzanne Brooks as she walks through the professional milestones that led her “back” to HC. Suzanne will share insight into her goals and priorities as Historic Columbia enters a new strategic plan while building upon our strong foundation of community engagement and support.
About Suzanne Brooks
Suzanne Brooks joined Historic Columbia as Executive Director in September 2024. A native of North Carolina, Suzanne relocated to Columbia in 2014. With a background in historic preservation, community revitalization, and non-profit leadership, Suzanne brings a deep passion for preserving history and advocating for community. Suzanne holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in Interior Design with a focus on historic interiors and drafting. She holds a Historic Preservation certification and General Contractors License. Her experience includes serving as Executive Director of the Spartanburg County Historical Association and Central South Carolina Habitat for Humanity. Suzanne enjoys walking the gardens of HC, boxing and trying new workouts, and spending time with her husband and their son.

Knowledge at Noon provides fresh perspectives on Columbia’s rich history. This monthly virtual series delves into diverse topics such as archaeology and women's history, featuring Historic Columbia staff and local experts. Each session includes a forty-five-minute presentation followed by a Q-and-A. Attendance is free, but registration is required to receive the meeting link.
