Maxcy Gregg House
Recognized for its association with Confederate General Maxcy Gregg, who purchased it in 1854, the property initially belonged to John Davis, who had this house built by June 1841. The Land family bought the home in 1880 and incorporated a formerly separate kitchen into an addition at the rear of the house and added three dormers and a broadened, columned porch to give the structure a “Barbados flavor.” After ninety-two years as a home, the building was adaptively reused as offices in 1974 by architect Bill Fulmer.
